235 Second Street This property is a quintessential representation of the creative work we do at Birmingham Development. The building is 283,000 sq. ft. and located in the heart of the city's SOMA neighborhood. It was once an old warehouse, and has been transformed to become the home of CBS Interactive (formerly CNET).
This six-story building, (which was designed by Fee Munson Ebert) was built from the ground up, but fits seamlessly into the existing neighborhood. Boasting open courtyards with hand-laid brick walls, ornate arches, a public lobby which includes a stainless steel sculpture by world renowned British artist Anish Kapoor, and a six story atrium through the building.
This project has garnered many Architectural awards, and John King calls 235 Second Street his favorite new building in San Francisco.
