560 Pacific Ave This San Francisco neighborhood has probably the most colorful history of all the city. During the Gold rush it was the city’s red-light district, known as the ‘Barbary coast trail’. After prohibition the area was renamed ‘International Settlement’, and was a designated entertainment area for bars and jazz clubs.
It’s most recent evolution as a tech hub is a far departure from its racy beginnings. Working in connection with Huntsman Architects, we designed and built a showcase property to Headquarter a high-end branding company, Tolleson Design. The building was featured in Architectural Record.
We created a cleverly installed mezzanine in the original roof truss’s of the property, which produces a spectacular visual image of the space. The main ground floor was combined with a rebuilt lower level, which created an exciting split level space.
